While we wait for a special kind of Lamer, the one that will argue for days on end and not realise how much they’re getting owned, we must settle for interim lamers, sometimes the more stupid species of lamer, the type that won’t fight. First there was iobasoss [who's yet to return to YoYo and see what I had to say back to him], next came MetaRidley86 [yesterday] and today we have SonicTHDX11 and his useless sonic platform engine.

Today’s ownage took place in the most unexpected of places, madsgrau’s incomplete game, “Game Heros”, [it's spelt Heroes] which uses SonicTHDX11’s engine. Without further ado, here come the quotes, beginning with the words of TurboX:

“I’ll be studying Operating Systems as a small part of a college course in (possibly) over a year’s time. Until then, I have no care at all for them and by then I doubt I’ll even want to make or join the slightest conversation on the topic. it’s just not me. And now some final words today, this time, as I think I should do more often but never get around to, the final words are about games on YoYo …

… or more, videos. I’ve never been one to make a video with GM, and if I were I’d screen-record it and put it on Youtube, but give these a chance. TurboX has released a (short) video starring Knuckles and Tails, it’s not Sonic Dance 3, but I think it serves as a nice waiting-time filler.

Although tiger says he can’t give you a link, looking through his comments, he seems to have uploaded the video here, it can’t be played right now, supposedly it’s still being edited (which actually means he’s probably taken it down until he can get rid of the bugs completely) if he does reupload the game soon you’re likely to find it there.

There hasn’t been any more (valid) bids in the custom auction, although we have found another person who doesn’t read first posts: the post-count-of-9 Kajix, who placed a $250 bid, $10 above both today and yesterday’s top bid of $240 by Lt. Jessie. Looks like the limit people are willing to pay is going to be reached soon.

As for the $25 make-your-own-custom proposal, an extra page of “no i cant afford it” topics has appeared, but as those posts always do, they’ve carried something worth quoting on their backs.

With an absence of YoYo news today (iobasoss seems not to have had time for YoYo [DX] and there isn’t even a hint of a competition02 update >_> even though it ended over 10 days ago) I took to the forums, like I do with PP when there’s no announcements.

Unfortunately, I found nothing. The Suggestion Box is becoming overrun by n00bs, a classic example being the topic in which it was asked (for possibly the millionth time) whether GM games are going to be on consoles any time soon. And of course, the answer was a resounding no from the community.

Well, it was actually more of a possibly. But with YoYo’s work rate, I think it’s more likely that the company will crash and burn before GM games start running on consoles … if anyone’s ever put a console game in their computer and looked at the files [I have, to rip some awesome music] they’ll realise how different the structure of your average console game is compared to the average output of GM, and what with the slow Mac rewrite (yes, it is a rewrite, I know, but it’s likely that a similar amount of work will be needed to make GM’s Games run on consoles) I don’t think we’ll be putting GM games in our consoles at any point within the next 4 years at least, if ever. Although I could be wrong.

I moved away from the Suggestion Box in an attempt to get away from n00bs and their repeated disappointments at GM and YoYo’s failures. With hindsight, that was a stupid thought. Still, I found a topic in General Chat about YoYo’s recent erroring (the “Service Temporarily Unavailable” message, you can’t tell me you’re lucky enough not to have got it at least once) it moved in to a whole “squishing bugs” sort of thing, which reminded me of how I managed to crush an extremely annoying fly today (it was slower than I expected) after only 2 attempts. I got it’s blood on my hands. Gross. And then I went to throw it out the window (picking it up in a tissue) and I found that I’d actually just ripped the wings off it’s half-destroyed fly corpse. >.<

The original title of this post was going to be “Quetzal gets Naked” because of this topic in Random Chit-Chatter [not what some of you may be thinking], but I thought better of it. Instead I made it about what this post is actually about - the updates since yesterday surrounding the Custom Adoptable Auction and potential Cash Shop make-your-own-custom-for-$25 adoptable.

First of all, the bidding in the Custom Auction has slowed down, with Yoshi backing out slightly and Lt. Jessie still having the last word … or more, number: $240.

Secondly, Cyde made a response to my post yesterday in the potential new custom adoptable selling idea, as well as a response to Quagthistle’s (interesting as can be expected) post. I can show you this best through a series of 3 post-quotes, which can be found in the original topic sitting among the vast sea of “no, $25 is too high … because I’m 10 and I can’t afford it” posts, as well as the occassional one that says yes.

Today on PP it’s all been about Custom Adoptables, with 2 Custom-related Announcements being made.

The first is about *potential* plans to charge $25 and give PP users their own custom adoptables, providing they supply the art themselves.

Simply put, about 90% of people are saying it’s too high, and 60% doing the old “oh noes I’m poor ’cause I’m 11″ sort of thing. >_>

And on a final note for today, I’d like to direct you to an intriguing GMC topic [posted by Ruud v A] about an under-everyone’s-nose-but-somehow-not-seen-for-years discovery about saving a GM executable as “Runner.exe”. I’ve tried it myself, what they’re saying is true, it functions as the GM Runner, asking you to open a game and then running it. Strangely, the game is run as normal but with the same icon as the Runner exe (which can be anything), and if you run the Runner exe with Runner.exe, the game runs as normal. From what I’ve read, it works for GM6 and GM7.

Well, I was a little late getting online today, so I was hoping that today the PP news would be easy for me to find, rather than my usual search for an interesting topic somewhere on the board. Something like Firefall coming back and explaining what’s going on, or a new Announcement at the forums would be great, I was thinking.

I got both.

Which is actually somewhat unfortunate, since now this post is going to take as long as they usually do for me to write.

Probably longer, in fact, what with all this waffle I’m calling an introduction.

Now let’s get down to business. Over the past 5 days it’s been made pretty clear that Firefall hasn’t been online, and somewhat more noticably she was taken off the PP mod list.

And the second more upbeat piece of news is the addition of TWO new forums. Yay!

The first is a forum for unofficial user competitions (the kind you’d usually find in General Discussion) so now they have a place of their own you can’t post them elsewhere on the board. All Contest topics in General Discussion have been moved to the new forum, bringing General Discussion’s total topics down to only 533.

The second forum that’s been added is a new Dinomon Competition ending on May 18th (9 days time) - You must sprite (or draw and sprite over) the newly discovered Dinomon that the researcher describes:

Well, there have been some interesting events over the past 24 hours.

First, we’ve seen an end (or at least a sharp decrease) to IHP’s repetitive mrsmes impressions, leaving most of us without IHP’s attention (and that’s such a terrible thing. ha ha) He’s only posted one (surprisingly friendly) comment on tigerdude’s new Sonic Mystic Machine Live Preview:

But did he really rate SMM 6/6? it’s hard to tell with all the ratings the game (or more, preview) has gotten so fast. I’d like to say Well Done to tiger, it’s coming along well, and for someone’s first game it’s excellent. ^__^ Although 9 months spent on a first game is special in itself.

And with some final words for today, I’d like to highlight 2 more blogs worthy of attention. Although they don’t have anything to do with YoYo or PP, they’re still awesome. They are the famous-among-WordPress-users FAIL Blog and the widely-unknown Ectoplasmosis [ectomo.com].

An excellent topic. And I’m not saying that just because it’s making CrimsoNKiNG famous.

PP forum member Heal has set up a topic filled with the top 10 adoptables (by level) of each type (currently it only shows Dinomon, some recent pokeballs and the “unique” adoptables like Cylins) as well as a top 10 overall list, which I’m happy to say CrimsoNKiNG is currently 2nd place on ^__^ 1st place is JackulWulf’s level 13,072 Vert [which is a Fierce Rayquaza, a recent May adoptable], and not far behind CrimsoNKiNG is Heal’s just-over-level-10,000 Jenn, which is a Shiny Fierce Rayquaza.

Anyway, looking at the Dinomon list I noticed the inaccurate absence of my level 1400+ Fuchsia Dinomon Petasaurus X, a secret project raised at a time when Corrupted Dinomon were near impossible to get.

Needless to say, I posted him there.
